Our baking Story

A home baking business evolves

A Basing Bakes was started by myself, Helen, as a small home baking business in 2012. Initially, I supplied cafes, farm shops and pubs, but in 2017 I made a decision to concentrate on selling directly to the public via farmers’ markets. My husband Harvey helped me on market days until 2021, when he joined the business to work with me full time.

Cooking gluten free products requires a safe environment to protect our Coeliac customers, therefore we converted a room in our house to be a dedicated gluten free kitchen.

Over the past few years, as we have increased our business in all markets, we advise pre-ordering if there are specific products you are looking to purchase.

Our products have won many awards from the Guild of Fine Foods who run the UK Great Taste Awards. The basis for many of our products is our amazing gluten free pastry, which has also received a Great Taste award.

You can find us most weekends at a market* in one of the following locations: Romsey, Winchester, Emsworth and Farnham, as well as the Guildford Farmers' Market which is on the 1st Tuesday of the month.
